Indian Institute of Legal Studies is a law college in Dagapur, Siliguri, West Bengal. It was established in the year 2009. The college is affiliated with the University of North Bengal. 

About the Competition

Indian Institute of Legal Studies is organizing its 7th edition of Youth Parliament to be held on November 26 and 27, 2022.

Objectives of the Competition

Youth Parliament aims to develop self-confidence so that one may take concrete steps towards becoming a vigilant citizen and is also a forum to explore the laws prevailing, their implementation, and their impact on society so that they can become good citizens and play a vital role in the Pursuit of Transformation.

In the contemporary era, where youngsters are aiming to foster parliamentary democracy through their actions, this event would provide a platform for them in understanding the process of making laws in the parliament thereby enhancing their skills as Responsible Citizens.

Agendas for the Competition

  • Clinical Waste Management: The Role of Civic Bodies with regards to Maintaining Safety and
    Hygenic Standards of the Hospitals.
  • One Nation, One Election: The Need to Restructure Election Mechanism in India.

Eligibility

School Students of Class XI and XII and College Students in 1st year and 2nd year of any educational institution can participate in the competition.

Language

The Competition will be conducted both in English & Hindi language.

  • INR 1000/- (Inclusive of accommodation for 3 nights i.e. 25th, 26th, and 27th November 2022 respectively along with transportation to and from the Institution and Dinner for 25th November)
