Team Legislatum is proud to present its 1st National Virtual Moot Court Competition'. ' Virtual Moot Court competition' is first of its kind competition which seeks to create a real time courtroom experience for budding law students. Especially in a phase when the world is going through emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it becomes necessary for law students to understand the working mechanism of E-courts.

This competition is open for all law students pursuing 3 years or 5 years LLB or an LLM course from a recognized college, institute or university in India. For more details kindly follow the rule book.

--RULE BOOK --

1. DEFINITIONS


1.1. “Institution” means any recognized law school/college or university.

1.2. “Petitioner” means the party which is presenting a petition to the court alleging the commission of a wrong.

1.3. “Respondent” means the party against whom the petition is filed.

1.4. “Rules” means these official Competition Rules and any applicable supplements to these

Rules published by the Organizing Committee.

1.5. “Speaker” refers to the members of the team who will be pleading before the Judges in the oral rounds.___


Rules and Regulations of the event:


1. The event will take place online.


2. Any student persuing LL.B or LL.M can apply from any college or university within India.


3. The participants will have to include the following things in the memorial

a) Summary of argument.

b) Argument advanced

C) Prayer.

[No need of making proper format of memorials but the participants will have to refer to the facts of the case and the issues during argument]


4. The memorial should be in the format of Times new Roman, size 12 and spacing 1.5 along with boarder and page number.


5. The cover page of the Prosecution should be in blue colour and the Respondent has to be in red colour.


6. The submission should be only through online and no need of sending any hard copy.


7. The participants have to send another file of the cases that they will refer in the argument

and it should be from an authentic site.


8. The moot problem for the competition which will be provided to the participants only after

Registration.


9. The participants have to make arguments for both the sides.


10. Both the participants have to speak on the given Moot problem.


11. Each group will get about 10 minutes (which they can decide among themselves) to speak on the topic and 2 minutes for Rebuttal.


12. The Moot problem will be given only after registration..


13. The Team code will be provided to the participants only after Registration.


14. The Registration amount is non- refundable.

3. Registration Process-

The candidates will have to register themselves for the Moot Court competition by filing up

the Google Form and have to mail at - legislatum@gmail.com along with their original

Name (s), college name, whatsapp number(s) in the official mail id of legislatum to get the

Moot Problem- legislatum@gmail.com.


4. Submission Process

The last date of submission of the Memorial will be on 9th September 2020 before 11:59 PM.

11. Final- 13th September 2020.


12. Announcement of the results on 13th September 2020 (evening)
